Love Surf City

Earlier this afternoon I took a little drive with my friend D over to Huntington Beach to pick up our race packets. We battled some Friday traffic and encountered a jam into the expo parking lot once we got there. Good thing D was driving because people were driving crazy.

It was a beautiful day at the beach today! I took this photo because there were thousands of seagulls sitting on the sand. Thousands!

Once we entered the expo, it was equally crowded inside! Man, this is the reason I hate large races.

We got this nifty tote...

...along with this kinda cute shirt. Looks like a baseball shirt. I do believe this is the cutest Surf City shirt I own now. The unisex/men shirt was more of a teal color with a round neckline. I think I like the color of the men's shirt a little bit better.

So this year I am a fourth year Legacy Club member and picked up this shirt. It is a cotton shirt. I don't wear it for running. I have a couple of these at home and have never wore any of them. Wish they would give out something different each year instead of the same old shirt every year.

We left there without signing up for any races or buying anything. Don't know if that is a good or bad thing. Anyhow I will be running my 25th half marathon on Super Bowl Sunday. Wish I could say that I am excited about it but I am actually concerned as I believe that I have a calf strain on both legs and I don't know how it happened. I have the worst luck at this race. Here's to making it to the end in one piece!

The legacy shirts are different each year. The baby blue one I think two years ago was the only one that I do not like. I wish that they would give us something useful, like a mug or something else.
