Friday Five Favs 12/30

I'm getting somewhat regular with these Friday Five Favorites postings. So these 5 things are what I'm loving this week.

1) Gummy Vitamins - don't know why I haven't tried them until now. Perhaps it was the sugar content that I was concerned about but these things make taking vitamins a boat load of fun and deliciousness!

2) Pie-In-A-Jar - this was a homemade gift from Sister K's bf and I have to say that it is one of the most unique gifts I've gotten in a long time. I really love when people make things for me because it truly is so much more meaningful. Speaking of, I have to show you these gloves that Youngest Sister K made for me, maybe next Friday. She is a really talented teenage crocheter. This pie spoke to my love of creative gifts as well as my inner foodie. Plus, it is so cute on the inside!

3) Froggy Bag Clips - so I really love these froggy bag clips. They are adorable and I had needed some so badly. Cute and functional, I love it so much!

4) The Spicy Shrimp and Squid dish at Thai Cafe in Irvine - I ordered this dish for the first time recently and am in love with it!

5) Giada's Holiday Biscottis recipe - this recipe using pistachios and cranberries was not only festive but it was pretty delicious! I am never happy with how my baked goods turn out but these I would make again.

Friday Five Favs (12/16)

I was looking through my photos recently and noticed that it's been awhile since I've done a Friday Five Favs. At this rate, I should probably rename this to Quarterly Quality Quintettes. I made that up and it was bad but it is Friday and I got nothin'. Have to get ready in a couple of hours for holiday party number four. Should I get sloshed? Probably not a good idea since I have a long run in the morning. Don't mind me, I'm just talking to myself. Okay, let's get back to Friday five...

1) I love flowers! I started this collage at the beginning of 2011 and this is what I have now. These were either sent, given to me or that I purchased from the farmers market. Any day that I am surrounded by some flowers is a good day.

2) This is not my first pair of Injinis but I love these lightweight "no-show" ultra thin performance socks. I purchased 2 pairs recently and I always wear these on race days now.

3) I have some sun spots from running outside and I really like this Even Better lotion from Clinique that is suppose to erase spots. I don't know if it really "erases" them, more like lightly fades them. It is a slow process. Don't expect overnight results. It does lighten the spots but it takes time.

4) Pomegranates the size of my dog's head! He was weird-ed out that I was using him as a unit of measurement.

5) Fake eyelashes! My eyelashes are nonexistent so I fake it. They are a pain to put on but are dramatic when you get them on correctly. They are not for everyday unless you have a lot of time on your hands or become an expect at getting them on quickly but they are fun for parties and special occasions. I love them! Which reminds me that I have to find some to slap on for tonight. Be back tomorrow to let you know how that long run went or not...

Friday Five Favs (08/12)

I'm doing another Friday Favs posting. I think this is my second one. I'm pretty backed up with my postings this week but sooner or later I will get them done. It's been a long and busy week but here are a few things that really cheered me up.

1) Those boots I ordered from Aerosoles finally arrived today! Yay!

And I LOVE them!

2) I finally got around to buying an external drive to back-up my increasing number of photos!

Isn't it a thing of beauty?

3) Rambutan! A tropical fruit similar to the lychee but in my opinion about 10x better. I *heart* these! I can probably eat a truck full. I want to thank my daddy for buying them this past weekend. I think I ate half of the family's stash! @_@

4) These crackers that I picked up from the Cowgirl Creamery in SF a few weeks ago. So good! Note to self to get more when I am there next.

5) Finally, this is a red velvet cupcake from Susie Cakes. They are celebrating their 5th birthday this weekend. You know where I'll be! ;)

I have a long run planned for tomorrow. I don't know how many miles I'll do since only two weeks ago, I ran a marathon but Long Beach is coming up so I need to get in gear. Be back tomorrow to report. Happy Friday!!

Friday Five Favs

Hooray for short work week! Lots of stuff at work crammed into three days but now the weekend is here so who cares! I went to spin class three days in a row this week and still manage to get in some running and weight training so I guess I am back to normal this week. I have a 20-miler scheduled for tomorrow but I am just going to go out there and get in as many as I can before I get too tired or it gets too hot to run. After this weekend, I will be in taper for the San Francisco Marathon coming up in three weeks. That should be fun. I can't wait.

I didn't really have any neat pictures to share today so I thought that I would do a Friday Five Favorites of things that I am loving this week. Some things I've already mentioned in some previous posts.

Garmin 305 Heart Rate Monitor - so I've had my Garmin 305 for quite a while now but never used the heart rate monitor with it but I've been using it in spin class lately to gauge my level of exertion and it's been fascinating to see what my heart is doing during climbs and such. My max heart rate for someone my age is 193 but I never get anywhere near that. The highest I've gotten in class so far is 177. All this data fascinates me.

Skin Food's Black Sugar Wash-off Mask - I mentioned about product a few days ago and I am still planning to go back to Skin Food to try out more products. I hear they have a nice under-eye concealer.

Roasted and unsalted Pistachios from Trader Joe's - I mentioned about this in the last post. I just love it!

Orville Redenbacher's 100 Calorie mini bags of Kettle Corn - I have a mild obsession with this stuff right now. I'm going through at least one bag a day. Thank goodness it is only 100 calories.

Jasmine Blossom Green Tea from Stash - I first had this tea during dessert at Suzanne's Cuisine in Ojai but I found it at Target recently and love the smell of Jasmine in green tea. Love!
