Note: I had a great weekend with the sisters. Love hanging out with the sisters! We randomly went to different places and had a great time. We finally found time to go to Aquas Tijuana's Juice Bar. That place is just great. Went way overboard with the ordering but so good! It was everything I had hoped it would be and more. Hope I go there again. Also finally went to Vietnam Restaurant and discovered that it sucked...so sad! And finally we had intentions of going to Euro Pain (yes...so many food dreams in one weekend) but it didn't work out since they closed early on Sundays. So we headed out to Buster's coffee bar and ended up passing by Fair Oaks Soda Fountain and decided to go in there instead for our snack. I had a hot dog and an Arnold Palmer. The others had root beer floats, strawberry malt and chili cheese fries. That place is pretty cool, service was iffy resulting in tables being kinda icky. Food was ok but being lactose intolerent took all the fun out of it...hahaha. The ice cream "smelled" so good! Want some! On the food front, I can honestly say that I ate too much and will-power was nowhere in site to save me. Trying to have a clean week since the 4th is coming up fast and there will definitely be some good eats. I just want to survive the holidays! Yatta!

Also, this morning was the last day of my antibiotics. I am so so happy about finishing that stuff up as it was seriously causing my stomach to bleed. I am sure things can only go up from this point. Amazing that one month ago at around May 26th was when I first experienced the symtoms of what turned out to be a month long illness. Now it will take me 1 month to get back to the level of fitness I was at before being sick...bleh! It's weird because I was feeling pretty invincible before getting sick and now I feel like a toddler learning to walk all over again. It sucks but I know and hope that I will be back to where I was soon.

Those apple danish I had today was because I was sitting in on any all day meeting with my boss and there was so much naughty yummy snacks and such. It reminds me of that Nutri Grain Bar commercial where that lady starts out eating bad in the morning and it just continues through out the day until she starts her day healthy and the rest of her day is also healthier. Went to run club today and even though the running is getting better. I feel myself struggle everytime I run with them. I just feel so slow even though I can now run 4 miles in 30 mins on any old day. Still feel slow compare to those guys. Hoping to improve over time.

Rambling About A Very Large Fish

This has been a long week. Maybe it was because it was the first full week after the Memorial Day weekend and then being out sick. I am feeling pretty good today.

You may or may not know that the name of my blog is derived from those Sport Chalet license plate frames that say things like..I'd rather be running, I'd rather be fishing. Yeah, I'd rather be eating or sleeping...mostly eating. Although Summer Tomato mentioned that the real secret to losing some weight is just to eat a bit less. Speaking of fishing, I was watching this show on the Discovery channel yesterday about Killer Fishes. This one guy is an avid fisherman. I mean he is really into it. He travels the world just to fish. Yesterday's show was about these giant man eating catfishes that can weigh up to 600+ lbs in a river on the border of Nepal and India. He had heard stories that people who swam in that river were pulled into the water by a mysterious creature and no remains were ever found. This guy was like out in the elements fishing for days on end. He was wearing this tattered t-shirt and I thought to myself...gee I don't think I've ever been THAT passionate about anything in my life. After what must have been weeks he was not able to catch the one that was big enough to have eaten people but he did catch one that weighed about 160 lbs. The weird thing about these catfishes is that they have the potential to get very large in size if the food supply is there. Amazing! Can you imagine if human beings could do that! Weird. So the guy finds out that the Indians would have these river-side fire funeral ceremonies in which they would set the body on fire and then push it out to the river. Apparently these giant catfishes would eat these bodies and over time have developed a taste for people meat and have started to eat swimmers as well. So essentially these fishes got so big from eating all those people. That's just pretty gruesome.

Back from the Dead

I am back after getting my butt kicked by strep throat, losing my voice, sleeping multi 20 hour days in a row and missing countless days of work. I take so much for granted like energy, sitting up at my computer and just not coughing. Man, I have not been this sick in so many years. Those bacterias were fierce and I hope they never come back. Everyone keeps saying it is because I ran so many marathons in a row..ok ok...if so many people are saying that then I guess it must be right. I don't think so but it is hard to argue with so many people when you are sick. It's kinda been nice not having to go to work but the illness part has been rough. I got some beautiful pink roses and didn't have to do my chores for a few days. The good news is I only have one day of work this week so yay! My blog will resume next week when I've had a chance to get back on track. :D
